Christmas Eve At Riverside 2025
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 24 @ 3:00, 4:15 & 5:30
Join us on Christmas Eve for our annual Candlelight Christmas Eve service. We'll have 3 services which will all be identical- only difference will be the crowd at each service. Each service will be approximately 45 minutes. We'll sing and read through the Nativity story and Pastor Ed will give a (very) short message just prior to celebrating communion together on this holiest of nights. We'll watch a short video of what the first Christmas might have been like and then we'll light our candles together while singing Silent Night to dispel some of the darkness from our Alaskan winter nights.
Parents- you will decide whether your child gets their own candle to hold. But please monitor them so nothing goes up in flames this year (it's never happened in our 25 years of doing these services and it'd be fantastic to keep it that way ;0) And just in case- there will be fire extinguishers conveniently located throughout the sanctuary.
There will be no kids classes (although the toddler room will be open if you'd prefer to drop off your younger children during the service) but never fear- Pastor Ed's lesson will be less than 10 minutes with a video half way through that that the kids will enjoy so they shouldn't get too restless).
If you know of someone that doesn't have any place to be this Christmas Eve please invite them to join you at whichever service you're planning on attending. Christmas Eve is one of two days out of the year that people who would never dream of stepping one foot inside a church might actually consider coming. And who knows, maybe they'll find the peace, the meaning and joy that Christmas Eve is really all about.
Merry Christmas from all of us at Riverside Community Church and never forget-
Jesus is awesome!

Meet our Pastor
Pastor Ed has a unique way of communicating the gospel and teaching about who Jesus is. Will you like it? No telling. You'll have to see for yourself.

What We Believe
Get to know more about what makes us different.
We keep saying "we do church different" but what exactly does that mean? Doesn't every church do church differently? Isn't that why there are so many different denominations?
Yes. So will you like our "different"? We don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. There's no way to know for sure until you check us out.
What do we believe? That it all comes round to Jesus. Always. The Old Testament. The New Testament. Creation. Us humans. All of it. All of it comes back to Jesus.
Every. Single. Time.

We don't really have a terribly specific what-we-believe list. You can click below and read about our values and our "why" but you won't find the typical exhaustive list of doctrines that you might find on other church websites. It's just one more way we do church "different".
